What's new?

I certainly haven't been very chatty this week. It feels as though I have been running around like crazy and this morning I was thrilled to ignore the 6 am bell and roll over for an extra hour of sleepy bliss. I kinda like that it is noon and I'm still in my jammies :-) This week marked the arrival of a metalworking project I have been working on for what seems to be forever! Do you see that metal bail piece on my donut? That's it! It is a collaborative effort where a wonderfully friendly metal artist took my exact design dimensions and set me up with another group of artists and low and behold! Here is my own concept for an ArtisanClay fine metal donut bail! Reality! Really! I love it and I can't wait to try different surface designs and see where it leads me. Classy, No? Now to set up a spot around here for yet another kind of fire play! (aka metalwork)

I think this one is particularly classy as well. I made it and another similar piece with my mother in mind. I don't know why, I was just thinking of her. Though she is absolutely an earthy lady, she's not quite as earthy in her dress as I am. She's petite and soft and quite lovely... and the other necklace I made in this style is in her collection :-) Sometimes I'm a nice daughter, sometimes.

These large barrel beads were added to my etsy shop today. http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=31965485 I am so happy that half of the smoke fired donuts I listed mid week are already sold. I should be adding some more smoke fired beads sets soon, but if you see some that you like you should grab them up! Smoke firing is unpredictable and I am not really able to replicate markings.
