And the Winner is....

Staci won a $25 Artisan Clay Gift Certificate. I wonder how she will use it? I know she has been doing a lot of Sewing Lately-Maybe she will pick up some of my new buttons.
Staci is a good friend of mine and she shared my contest almost every day on Facebook. I have lots of great examples of Staci's work using Artisan Clay beads~~~ Since she was so kind as to make Tons of examples for me back in August when I was doing Bead Fest Philly. She doesn't have anything in her etsy shop with Artisan Clay beads, she really focuses on Sea Glass and her own PMC Components in her current work. Check it out!
This piece uses a this size pendant finished in all white
I just LOVE his necklace. I think it was my favorite of the pieces she made for my show. I think of it as snow white and Staci said something to the effect of Artisan Clay as Bridal Jewelry. I LOVE IT!
This necklace uses one of my Smoke fired Square beads. I am sold out of those in my Etsy shop today, but I will add more ASAP. Here is a link to one of my side drilled circle beads.
I made a really great necklace with 3 of my smoke fired circles last week. --I'll have to show you soon!
This necklace sold at Bead Fest. Staci used some of her sea glass for this pendant necklace. Lovely!

And last but not least~~ Look at this cool free-form necklace using my clay disc beads. Staci does these really cool focals with silver wire and sea glass. I really like this one--http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=35386776
Congrats Staci!

Something Different

I have been playing around with different shapes and surface designs lately.

I was playing around with different glazes. A lot of my work doesn't use glaze so this feels very different for me.
What do you think? I can't decide if I should glaze more or try smoke firing them.

Look What Summer Made!

There have been so many Awesome Jewelry Pieces made with my beads lately! I have not been doing a great job of showing them off. Check out these three wonderful Necklaces Made by Summer Hodgmen and added to the ArtisanClay Flickr Group. This first necklace is a great example of the multiple necklace, multiple pendant look.
This necklace includes one of my large Smoke Fired Donut Pendants. I love the wire work and how the Garnet color adds to the smokey darkness of the pendant colors.

And then THIS ONE! I can't stop looking at it! I love the peyote tubes and how the Golden squares mirror the square shape of the Copper Luster Fired Square Pendant.
Let me tell ya! There's more! Summer has been making Christmas presents with her Artisan Clay beads and other Art beads. Folks-- You are one lucky person if you are on Summer's Christmas list.
Summer also Bought a set of my new buttons, and added them to a sweater she recently purchased. It was so awesome to see that! I sat making my buttons, thinking about fancy warm sweaters, and warm knitted softies, and it makes me so happy to see them used in one of the ways I envisioned them!

New Disc Beads in Store!

I added some new disc beads sets to my etsy store yesterday

They are the same kinds of beads that I have been using for these waxed linen necklaces.

Here is a cool Tan/Brown set in the waffle texture. The glaze is called Ox Blood, and my friend Delana gave me the recipe years ago.

Here is a fun necklace I made with the waffley beads... This has been a popular style of necklace for me since I came up with it a couple of months ago :-)

I also added these 2 sets of disc beads from my latest firing with a new clay... I absolutely LOVE these blue beads! Guess what? I made 2 sets, so I can offer up one for you, and keep one for me :-)
Bursts in Oatmeal
And last but not least, we have these fun Oatmeal Bursts. The design is really raised and I think I love it!
So I have been using these beads in 3's for larger necklaces and also making necklaces with a single bead. It has been really great that these single bead necklaces were such a hit at my show last weekend. I love mine. I wear it all the time.
Ok, I wanted to let you all know that these are available, I really like them a lot! Can you tell? They have been my favorite beads to work with for the past couple of months.
I hope everyone is having a great weekend! I am off to see a Magic show with my girls, then off to Aunt Robin's annual Holiday Ball! Fun day!

Custom Necklace and New Donuts

I just finished this custom necklace. The customer has an identical necklace and wanted another one for her Mother-in-law who LOVED hers. I am so glad they both like them. I actually designed the necklace just for the customer. See the customer is a friend of mine, and I got to surprise them with the necklace. It was a lot of fun playing around thinking of what was just her style. ( I just so happen to have this necklace in my personal collection as well)
So in a sagger fired donut mood, I listed these 3 small sized donuts to my etsy shop.

Keep in mind that since this is a smoke firing, the design is different on either side. This is from the smoke moving differently in different areas of the kiln.

I imagine these pieces would look great combined with some carnelian or crazy horse stone... What do you think?

What's new?

What's new? Snow!!! It snowed here in Eastern Pa this weekend. Oh boy, it was a good one! Perfect snowmen, snowball fights and easy shoveling... What more do you want? Oh yeah, not taking myself too seriously for a few days, that's a good thing!
Ink Spot Pendant or Necklace
I love my work and all, but sometimes needing to pay the mortgage with my art can make me an seriously obsessed sole proprietor FREAK! Yep, a snow day was a good thing :-)
My brother is buying a second business. I can only imagine how his seriously obsessed sole proprietor freakiness is going right now. Oh my, new buildings, new employees, new bookkeeping, I think I will be offering him a lot of help in the next couple of months! Aqua and Black Pendant or Necklace
Tomorrow I go and pick up my work from the Kringle show. I can't wait to see how it went. It is usually a good show for me. I have been doing it for 6 years. Then Tuesday I take my work to a private boarding school to wow the rich girls. Ha! I am going to have fun putting together jewelry for the very fashionable High School chicks and their professors. Yep, it's going to be fun. High school girls aren't usually my demographic, being that they don't always have cash, but this is a different story. (I hope!) I think Fun, Funky, Bold Jewelry is the thing for this location.
Small Pendant, Charm or Earring Set in Purple

Also, I have been trying to use all the great suggestions that everyone left during the Beads-of-Clay open Studio Blog event. One of those suggestions was to add more Small charm sets...

Small Pendant Earring or Charm Set in Deep Dark Red
I did! I added these three new charm sets to my etsy shop this week!

Small Pendant Earring or Charm set in Blues

I also added some new small donuts fused with recycled glass. I think they would be fun as a component for front clasps, or... for more petite wearers.
I have been thinking about offering Gift Certificates in my etsy shop. Does anyone do this? What are good amounts to offer?
I hope you all had a great weekend! The snow was a good recharge for me. It kind-of threw some light into this season of long nights.

Get it while you can!

All the jewelry pictured here and more will be leaving my etsy shop in the morning. I have a morning appointment to drop off my work for a show this weekend and I will be taking several things out of my etsy shop to put in the show.
If you have been looking at any of my jewelry for yourself or possible Holiday presents, you have until I wake up in the morning (@6am) to claim them for yourself before they leave for a fate unknown.
Red Clay Art Necklace
I am very excited about the show. It is the Kringle Christmas Shoppe in Hayock, Pa. (On Apple Rd in the Latvian Church)

Lichen Necklace

Wish me luck!
I hope you are having a great Wednesday!
