Bead Fest Philly 1

I just have to share some quick photos of my booth at Bead Fest Philly this weekend.
My generous friends Mary Lou Holvenstot, Carol Dean Sharpe, Marcie Abney and Staci Smith lent me their work to display at the show.
I am so thankful to have the opportunity to have their work with me.  I admire them all so much as artists and friends and I love to talk about their work with new friends.  I would like to show off their work in more detail at a later time.  Every single piece deserves a spotlight.
I am so tired from the show.  It was a really great time.
I didn't have a booth helper this time around and I couldn't get out and walk around except for before and after hours and even then I needed to be brief.
That's a little bit different than I am used to.....  I am usually the artist known to not be at her booth.  Usually I end up wondering around and chatting with all my favorite artists for most of the show.  This time when I did run out to take a quick break I found people at the booth and security hovering nearby.
Somehow I still shopped at the VERY LAST MINUTE and found some fun chain and wood.  I kept to the list.  Thank YOU ----->  (pointing right at you) Yes, Thank YOU for coming by and saying hello!

And Thank YOU----->  (pointing finger again)  for following my work :-)

So now I will rebel from my 10x10 cubical and go on a road trip tomorrow.  Quite quickly following, I will need to figure out what work is going out to a few new venues.  This is a pretty cool job ;-)

  1. It was great to see you at the show! I did like the updated booth setup too - being able to see you (not behind the displays entirely) was great.

You know I was just thinking… Maybe next year - move those middle displays out to the ends of the tables to give your standing area an in-the-middle look. You know… when you play around with it again. I'm curious how that might look. Never ending isn't it?

Thanks for posting about the show!

  2. It was so nice to meet you! I LOVE the pieces I brought home with me.

  3. I love to see other peoples booth displays. Yours looks fantastic. Thanks for sharing the pics.

  4. Never been to Bead Fest, but I would love to go! Thinking about planning a trip for next year. I would want to go mostly for the socializing with friends, too and to see some of the beads-of-clay work there of course! Would love to meet you sometime. I know how you feel about being stuck in your booth. I've done shows and I work in a retail gallery by myself and you just can't leave for a second! It's a hassle to even eat or take a pee break!

  5. will you be there in the spring?

    Hope you had fantastic sales!

  6. Oh I would have been your booth helper!! Just to see your gorgeous pieces in person. :-) I hope it was a successful event!

  7. Thanks for your booth ideas Marsha! You know, I didn't really have a display plan this time around. It's was a different size and way different situation than when I signed on to the event....

I think my only goal was survival. ;-) I'm going to have to try those ideas!

It was really great to see you again! Thanks for coming down and chatting. I sent Marla my photos and she will be blogging for BOC about the event.

  8. Diana!!!! I am so happy to meet you! I can't wait to see you again where-ever that may be. I found your earrings in Bead Unique! I love that glaze!

  9. Thanks Summer! I was pretty nervous about the display since I usually plan it out pretty well before I get there. <3

  10. Erin--- Really! I mean Really! I'm glad you didn't see me eating my sandwich at the food court... I inhaled half of it and ran right back to my booth. After that, no booth sitters came for the rest of the show and every time I left there were people.

I would love to meet you too!

  11. Lori
I don't know if I can make it back in the spring. It is always hard to get away from the day job and family.
It is too bad that you couldn't come!
