Cyber Monday Sale Changes and new work

There is a change in the sale going on in my etsy shop----www.artisanclay.etsy.com
Now through Cyber Tuesday December 1st, When you buy 2 or more items you will get 25% off your entire order!
This photo is the new beads from the weeks firing. I love how the blue beads turned out, and the burst beads have kind-of an oatmeal appearance.

Yesterday I unloaded the kiln. That means sorting all the different styles of beads. Here was the scene, piles and boxes and organizers filling the work table.

Working Working

My jewelry making desk has become a mass of stone strands, tools and findings. It's a sure sign that there is a show in my horizon. I have been working in blacks and greys, and reds and browns. My favorite!
Here is some of my new work. I took them to my families Thanksgiving dinner last night and asked some of the ladies to try them on and switch them out so that I could see how I liked them. My mom was really into the cross drilled circle on the ribbon, and my 15 year old niece and her friend bugged out over this Zombie pendant necklace. (as did I)

And last night I made these dramatic smokefired bead earrings. I think they are pretty cool! I also made a larger pair with a really long tassel. I have been reminded multiple times that my Mom's friend NEEDS new earrings from me since her entire collection of my earrings were stolen from her hotel room when on vacation. Nothing like that Mom voice driving your to-do list ;-) I love her!
And these are my favorites. They are really hard to photograph. The large round beads are best photographed hanging and they have such cool markings all they way around-- so this the best I could do today.
All these pieces are going to the Kringle Christmas Shoppe put on by the Haycock Historical Society this weekend. I may be removing jewelry from my etsy shop during the show. I have added tons of jewelry to my etsy shop this week. So far my buy 1 get 1- 50% off sale has been really disappointing. It is as if as soon as I started the sale everyone stopped shopping my store. I guess there is still time. The sale is scheduled to end at midnight on Cyber Tuesday.... Anyway, I will definitely think twice before offering a sale of this kind again. Perhaps you all don't like me as a jeweler, but prefer me as an Art Bead Maker...? I should get back on the bead selling track after my shows.
I hope you are having a wonderful weekend! I had such a blast on my week-long Thanksgiving family-o-rama. I spontaneously planted myself in front of the beads and fired the kiln yesterday, so I get to go unload it now. And it's sunny!

It is Sale Time!

It's Sale Time! Now through Cyber Tuesday December 1st, everything in my shop is on sale! Buy one get one 50% off! Purchase your items and I will refund half of the purchase price of the lower priced item! I will be adding tons of New Work for the length of the sale!
I have added all that you see here to the Shop this week. I will add as much as I can during the length of the sale. I have tons of great Earrings, and Necklaces. I have something for everyone, from Statement pieces to everyday jewels.

I have also made this very special finding available. It was made in Collaboration with Kim Fox of Handfast designs and made in the USA. Here it is pictured in use on one of my Donut Pendants. I just love it. I have them available in Bronze, White Bronze, and Sterling Silver. I am also able to add a bail to most of my Donuts for you.

This is how the Donut bail comes to you. It is a substancial piece of Metal. It comes like this, flat with a large round loop bail at the top. It can be bent to fit a lot of sizes of donuts, and is perfect for non-standard sized Art beads. If you would like a metal or quantity that I do not have listed, just send me an etsy convo, and I will set you up with a reserved listing.

I also added another version of the Sold Witching Hour Pendant to the shop

and this slightly smaller pendant in the same color pattern.
I hope you take advantage of my sale. Next week I will be removing a lot of work from my shop and taking it to one of my favorite Shows. -- Kringle Christmas Shoppe in Haycock, Pa.
Soon after that I will be having a trunk show, so if you have been thinking about purchasing something in my shop, please do it now and take advantage of my sale pricing, or let me know what you would like and I will reserve it for you. I would hate for you to miss out on your favorite piece!
Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!
I hope you have a great day full of Friends Family and Laughter!

New in Store

I added three new pieces of Jewelry to my Etsy shop today. The first is a really beautiful necklace strung with Black and Red agate stones. The pendant is fused with Deep Deep black and Grey recycled glass. It is called Depths of Despair and it is one of those Necklaces which I remake from time to time since it is SUCH a great design!
Also while listing my new buttons to my etsy shop this week, I couldn't resist making one into a fun cuff. The duff is made from memory wire, so there is no clasp to fumble with and the focal always stays on top! No rolling, cause I really don't like that! Here it is--http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?ref=vl_other_2&listing_id=34969832

And here is the last necklace. Gold and Sunshine Now wouldn't that be nice? A bit of Gold and Sunshine for all! I also just made this pendant this week. I made it after mailing out my Fabulous Prize necklace to Rosanne. I just love the golden glass. I had to make another. This necklace is strung on different stones than the last, and I love it too!

So... Check them out! I think they would be great for your gift giving or for your holiday getting togetherness.
I would also like to mention that I love to gift wrap your orders. There is no charge for gift wrap and I have fun making your purchase a pleasure to open :-)
I hope your weekend is going well! I am now off to an early Thanksgiving feast. I am very lucky to be invited to 3 Thanksgiving meals this year! WOW!

Caterpillar #1 Bracelet

A was able to make a bracelet for Kelly's Challenge!
I chose the Caterpillar.

This was pretty tricky to keep under control while I was making it.
Check out Silver Parrot's Blog and read about the Challenge here-- http://silverparrotdesigns.blogspot.com/2009/11/are-you-up-for-challenge.html

New Buttons!

I finished a few sets of the Buttons I was working on last week! Normally I tend to stare at new work such as this for a while before I offer it for sale, I know I'm funny.
This time I looked at the calender, and the inventory in my etsy shop and decided I had to get them available right away. After all.... There are gifts to be made, hats to be embellished, sweaters to close, purses, scarfs, jackets Oh My!

I really like how they turned out, and I would love to see the beautiful things they become.
I hope you like them!
-Kristie

And the winners Are....

Thanks so much to everyone who participated in my 300 Salebration! The big 300 actually happened over the weekend, but this is the first time I can Blog about the Winners. Thank you to everyone of you for every single sale. I love what I do and it really only works when other people love it too. Thank you! :-)
Rosanne Garvison won this Indian Summer necklace for buying the 300th item in my shop. I love the warm golden glass of this pendant. The necklace is made of Leopardskin Jasper, which to me looks like Indian Corn. I choose this piece because of the beautiful weather here in Eastern Pennsylvania this past weekend.

Rosanne Garvison also won the Big Spender Prize with her order of 7 items to get to the 300th sale. This is a wooden box topped with a tile I made from Stoneware Clay and Recycled glass. It is a pretty big box, and the tile is 6 inches. Along with these prizes Rosanne also received 7 copper luster beads, and one of my new shank buttons in her gift wrap.
Thank you all for spreading the word about my sale. Those 20 sales went really quickly!
Of the 5 of you who blogged, twittered, Facebooked my sale the winner is number 3. Random Creative. I will get all my smoke fired bead together for a photo shoot and send you the picture for your choice of one of the beauties! Thank you!

Are you up for a Challenge?

I want to spread the word about a fun Contest that Kelly over at Silver Parrot is currently hosting.
The challenge is all about color. Particularly colors found in insects. Cool Huh? Kelly Has challenged us to create bracelets in the color schemes found in some really interesting bugs.

Kelly describes it much better so go on over and check it out! It should be a cool way to add some interest to your week's jewelry routine!
Here is a link to the blog post describing the challenge -- http://silverparrotdesigns.blogspot.com/2009/11/are-you-up-for-challenge.html

I hope you all are having a great week!
I am off to unload the bisque kiln, and then I hope to sit down at my potter's wheel and get some new donuts made... wish me luck!

In Progress

I have been feeling like a hit and run blogger these past couple of weeks. Life has been quite hit and run. I have been really focused on paying the bills and the craziness of life. Parent teacher conferences, getting depressed and realizing I needed to sensor myself through it. I finally got over my woes and then we got the Flu. Oh well, I'm pretty much fun with a fever, so I giggled my way through it and all in all we locked ourselves in the house for a week. Now That's a pretty awesome thing! Relaxing
And yay! I have been squishing around in the clay again! I work in cycles, so I often work in clay for a month, glaze for a few weeks, and make jewelry for a while and sell my work. So, now is a wet clay time. It's fun, it's freeing, it's why I love my job! Last night after my fever left, I set out to make some buttons at the request of my new favorite hat designer :-) Yay!! I am a hat addict. She so sweetly asked... Do you ever make 4 hole buttons? ----For you, anything!----
OK, I didn't actually make many 4 hole buttons, the clay had other plans. I did make some fabulous 2 hole buttons and shank buttons, (all the while imagining meeting my new favorite knitter) But really, mostly I made lots of fun disk beads. I have really been enjoying making the fibery disc bead necklaces... and my supply was getting dangerously low :-)
I made everything in white clay last night, and I think I will crawl into the dungeon (basement-crawl space) and see about some other clays I may have down there. I think I have some dark brown, manganese fleck, and porcelain... I wonder what will come upstairs with me!

Blue Ice Pendant / Fun with Focals #3

Blue Ice Pendant I am having a blast with Heather Powers' Fun with Focals Challenge. It's funny, I read this challenge, --The Assignment: Use jump rings as embellishment for your focal piece, the more the merrier! I thought that I would just pass on this one... I don't really use jump rings much-- And then, wouldn't ya know, a project I was already working on needed a little something. I added beads to jump rings and here you have it! Blue Ice Pendant
I know, I'm not looking for Icy weather just yet, but my husband insisted that I call the necklace Icicle or something like it. It is very cool and blue. I think it is great! It really moves with you.

And, I have it on a hand dyed silk cord, that can be tied up high or tied down low... or tied to any length you like for that matter! I always seem to find myself switching neck wear around this time of year when my sweaters and turtlenecks take over and my tank tops and tank dresses get pushed to the back of the closet. This pendant should come with you through all your necklines. I also would not be offended if you slide the focal on your favorite chain or neck ring :-)

What do you think?
-k-

Oh Yes... P.S.
This pendant was made with 2 of my standard size cabochons which are available for order to your color specifications :-)

Leather Bail Necklace/ Fun with Focals Day 2

The Assignment: Use ribbon, string or leather to create a bail for your focal bead/pendant. This is for the Humblebeads (Heather Powers) Fun with Focals Challenge
Soooo--- I got out my super thin leather cord and made a right angle weave bail for one of my medium sized Sagger fired donuts. I then used the remaining leather to knot wood, and agate beads to form the necklace.

And here it is! A dream! And here it stays, on my very own neck!
(I will make you a necklace in this design if you would like to ask me, but this one is all MINE!)
There are currently 4 sagger fired donuts in my etsy shop in this firing method and size. I love them! Look at all the photos in the listing, because the markings are different on either side, and can be used on either side. Find them in the Donut section of my shop.-- http://www.etsy.com/shop/artisanclay?section_id=5883686
