I made some new jewelry for a show this weekend.  Some of it has been added to the etsy shop, but most jewelry will be leaving my etsy shop for a long weekend so that it can go to the show.
The Buy one get one half off sale is still going strong.

Feeling like the luckiest kid EVER!

That's my girl!
She's feeling like a million bucks right about now.  I am very lucky to have a paint your own ceramics store just down the street from my home (maybe 2-3 miles)  I found myself out of black--- yep, I really like that black.  Don't think I could have gone another firing without it.  So, Starshine and I packed up the mail and headed out for a quick trip to the post office and ceramics store.  Only this time she realized that there was more than just glazes in that shop.  There was a lady there painting a pile of Christmas ornaments and OH BOY!  Aisles of green ware figures!
We checked each Aisle 3 times before she found the biggest fairy statue in the place.  The owner thought I was kidding when I told her to pack it up.  I figure that'll buy us a good 4-5 quality working hours :-)

If my mom would have let me have something that big from a craft store when I was 5 years old, my head would have exploded.  She helped me load it in the kiln today for a soft firing and she's tending the kiln too.  She is SO excited!  It makes me so happy :-)

I did get Marla's earrings done :-)

I thought I was going to be making lots of jewelry today, packing up inventory and dropping it off....... but nope.  Not so far.  I spent a good deal of the morning helping that Starshine of mine write a letter to grandma.   GGG Ga Ga, RRRrrrr  RA RA, AAa  aaaannnnnna  na na, D  DDD  Da,  Mmmmmm  mm, AH aaahhh.

Tomorrow is back to the office.  And maybe a volunteer gig at night.... hope to get to my stock my shop on my next Artisan Clay day..... which will be Friday.  lol
What a fun and full life it is :-)

Fresh out of the kiln

I opened the kiln this morning.

I made a lot of Dot Cabochons.

And these larger Cabochons with the painted rim.

I really like that yummy bleed of color along the edge.  :-)

And check these out!   They are a collaboration between myself and Marla James.....  They are made from the bisque from her Bisque bead supply website.  You have seen her bisque work used by quite a few ceramic artists, but maybe you didn't know it.  :-)

I really like these bright clean colors.  I do love making this style of bead.

And I made some pottery!  I should have spread them out to take photos.  There are tumblers, and serving bowls and one "perfect" soup bowl.  I am going to be taking these pieces to the Accessories Boutique in Bethlehem (next to the Hotel Bethlehem-Moravian Book Store area )  But I felt bad sending them off so soon, so I decided to have a sidewalk sale and let my Facebook friends know about it.  :-)

Sidewalk sales are my kids' FAVORITE thing to do!  As soon as I said it, the kids grabbed their handy work and set up shop with me.  I sat on the porch and the kids sat out by the sidewalk.  Lydia sold 2 butterfly necklaces and Sonya sold 2 of her beads.  :-)
Then they spent it all at the grocery store.... Belgian Waffles and ice cream for dessert tonight!

I filled the kiln up again as soon as I emptied it.  I am kicking myself for it.  It's 8pm and I am going to be awake tending it for a while....... But tomorrow morning, when I get to see all my new pottery..... It will be great!

What's new?

I made a few new pairs of earrings to the etsy shop this week.
I have a show coming up and I really need to make some new jewelry.  I thought I could add them to the etsy shop and then take them to the show early next month if they don't sell right away.

I also need to make more jewelry for a localish shop and make something for Erin's color challenge.  Right now, I am not certain where my postcard with my color scheme is..... but I hope it's in my purse.  Crazy week!

I am soaking my kiln right now....... That means holding the top temperature.....
I have glazed a bunch of pottery that was being ignored in the basement.  A lot of this work was made before I purchased my home..... over three years ago ;-)

I am also firing a bunch of Cabochons in the same style as these earring charms.--- The painted rim and hopefully it will bleed into the glass in this yummy way that I LIKE A LOT :-)

We'll see how they look in the morning.
Tonight I must sand and paint more charm sets, because I really want to make more earrings for the show and shops and I DO NOT want to steal the charm sets I have listed in my etsy shop.
MUST RESIST THE URGE TO SHOP MY OWN STORE!  lol  :-)

I made some more earrings too, not just all green. I wonder if I should list them in the shop as well...?

I don't know.... maybe I should be sanding more charm sets so I can make more.  Time, time, time.  Give me a shout if you are interested in any of these earrings.  I'm not sure if I'll have time to list them or not.
I hope you are having a great weekend!  I can't wait to open the kiln tomorrow!

Window Shopping with Sandfibers!

Carol Dean Sharpe featured my Aqua/Black Cobalt and Teal pendant in her window shopping post on her blog today :-)   Check it out--- http://sandfibers.blogspot.com/2010/11/saturday-window-shopping-with-sand_13.html

What's new?

I added these 2 pendants to the etsy shop this week.

I also added some earrings which I LOVE!  I will share those pictures in a few...
Firing the kiln today and Making MAKING making.  I even have pottery in there!

I need to make a plan.  A shop needs new jewelry, I want to do another bead trunk show, I have a jewelry show coming up, and I want to sell alot on etsy this season.  I need to make a plan!

Is there anything you would like to see in my etsy shop?

Staci Does it again!

Look at this awesome necklace by Staci Smith of Staci Louise Originals!  This piece has one of my Donut pendants front and center.  I just LOVE IT!

Staci also used one of my beads in this eye catcher.  The big yellow bulls eye bead is made by Lisa Peters. The little brown bead on the right of the picture is one of my "Stone Age beads"
Like these--http://www.etsy.com/listing/40476105/stone-age-stoneware-clay-bead-set-in

Staci made these pieces to get ready for a show this weekend.

What's new?

I added a few new pieces to the etsy shop this week.  Three of the four pieces here sold the same night to facebook fans.
The top left piece with three stinging loops is still in my shop here. http://www.etsy.com/listing/60537272/plum-purple-connector-handmade-stoneware
Orange and Black Set , Black and White single Medium Charm coming soon, Green and Brown set

I went to a really fun Halloween party this weekend.  Everyone had to dress like an old school photo.  It was SO funny!  Everyone has known each other a really long time, so we all could relax and really be goofy about it.  We ended up revisiting dance moves from school dance days and I laughed like an idiot so much and it felt so good.  My husband dressed up as his kindergarten photo and wore my Aunt Helen's blond wig to make up for missing hair ;-)   We had a drum major in uniform with a sparkly big stick, we had a soccer player in the actual shirt he wore in high school (that's pretty awesome! though uncomfortable) we had mullets and bead-dazzled jeans, crimped hair and a run on aqua net hair spray.  Pure Silliness!
I got my Thriller dance on~~ Which I REALLY really enjoy.
Someone needs to take me out dancing.

Today I was a rock star since I was given the task of driving the delivery truck at my other job.  It's fun to drive the big flat back, flat front truck.....  I don't think I would like driving the bigger box truck that we have quite as much but I do love going out on deliveries.  And I think I'm pretty dang cool when I get to do it.

I feel like I have gotten away from showing my personality here on the blog.... I've been kind-of nervous to show myself.  It seems like a lot of people are watching-- even when not a lot of people are commenting.  That makes me feel weird.  I wonder how many of you are nice and how many are critical....  I wonder what people think about my fragmented sentences and crazy ideas.  I don't know.   I really like fragments.   Blogger has been playing tricks on me too.  I really don't have the time to argue with blogger or try again later.   I've started adding picture mosaics since I have a lot of trouble getting individual photos to upload well.  So any who..... I feel like it is either stop doing it, or take it back as a place where I can be me.

So there!  ;-)

What's new with you?  Did you go to any Halloween events?  Did you get to drive a big truck?
Do you still rock crimped hair?  and Keds.... with all you friends names written on them with puffy paint????

A bit behind

  Charm sets
Sisterhood of the traveling beads, beads I got from the box...

I caught myself a little fever/cold this week.  It was going around the office.
